Sunbury Municipal Authority authorizes 6% increase

FEAT_GENERIC_NEWSSUNBURY – Sunbury residents can expect higher water and sewer bills next year. The Sunbury Municipal Authority is raising rates for both wastewater and drinking water in 2016.

The wastewater base rate will increase $1 per month from $16.70 to $17.70. Usage fees will increase 50 cents per 1,000 gallons of water usage. Dan Ramer, general manager of the authority says the average residential customer who uses 5,000 gallons of water per month will see an increase of about $2.50 per month.

The water base rate will increase 65 cents per month to $11.45 for all customers. The usage fee will increase 24 cents per 1,000 gallons of water usage. That translates to about $1.20 more for the average household.
