SUNBURY – The Daily Item reports…. The cost of food and basic household necessities has caused hardship for a 30-year-old Sunbury mother. Although she works, Angelica, mother of a 7-year-old daughter, said the basic cost of living has been a burden for some “I have had a problem with the price of food, utilities, of gas for my car. Overall, my bills. And getting presents is tough. I went to the Salvation for help even a year ago. They have been helping me a lot,” she said.
At first, Angelica was hesitant to seek assistance from the Salvation Army because “I knew that there were people in way worse situations than me. God has always provided for me. But this has been a tough year.
“I’ve really struggled this year, and the Salvation Army, honestly, has been a blessing. So for those who need help, please reach out to these very kind people,” she said.
Her daughter has ideas about what she’d like for Christmas, Angelica said, “but she is not a picky kid. She is happy with anything that she gets. She loves dresses. She loves unicorns and Barbie dolls.”
