SUNBURY – One of The Valley’s state house members said—he is seeking re-election. Monday morning during WKOK’s On The Mark, republican Fred Keller (R-85th Kreamer) announced his bid for re-election. “There is a lot of work to be done yet, much work to be done yet. I hope to be re-elected so that I can continue to work for the good people of Union and Snyder Counties.”
Representative Keller talked about his view on the state’s notorious budget stalemate, “The whole budget dialogue has been about control and it has been about control of the taxpayers’ money. Do we want Harrisburg to control more of that and the governor to put it where he sees fit? Or is it better controlled at the local level and also by the people who earn it—the taxpayers?”
During the interview Keller spoke about his opposition to a severance tax for the natural gas industry and the need for more results in Harrisburg. Fred Keller was elected to the state house in November 2010 and his district contains most of Snyder and Union Counties. His office is located at 343 Chestnut Street in Mifflinburg.
