LEWISBURG – A popular television actress was in Lewisburg Monday night. Ellie Kemper, star of the Netflix hit, “The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” spoke to a packed house at the Weis Center on the campus of Bucknell University. Kemper who is also well-known for her role as Erin on “The Office,” says she is cheerful and upbeat like the characters she plays, but there are differences as well.
“Kimmy is very resilient. She is defined by her tenacity and strength, so I hope that I share some of that. I’ve never gone through anything nearly as horrific as what she has and come out on top.”
Season two of Kimmy Schmidt airs April 15 and Kemper offered a sneak peak, “She does a lot of unpacking of her own life, independent of her time in the bunker. There was a whole lifetime that she led before going in there, so she actually goes into therapy. I think it’s great.”
Ellie Kemper is now preparing a collection of essays she hopes to have published sooner rather than later. (Kory Kramer)
