SUNBURY, Pa. (AP) — Sunbury police have charged a woman with stealing the personal Bible of a Catholic priest at St. Monica’s church . 52-year-old Elizabeth Pensyl was arrested at her home Wednesday night. The Rev. Fred Wangwe tells Sunbury police he found the Bible and two other religious books missing from the chapel at St. Monica Parish Tuesday.
When police reviewed surveillance video, they identified Pensyl and found the stolen materials at her home while arresting her on an unrelated charge. Pensyl will face a hearing on these charges, as well as other criminal charges from unrelated incidents.
