SUNBURY – This year’s River Festival in Sunbury was a big success. Sunbury’s Revitalization, Inc. hosts the event as a fundraiser for their economic development projects. Slade Shreck is co-chair of River Festival and says they netted about $20,000, “We made more than the last couple of years. By no means did we become millionaires at SRI, but it’s another function we do to help raise money to help promote the City of Sunbury.”
Shreck says SRI does a lot of good for the city, “I think we get a lot done for the City of Sunbury with the money we raise from our River Festival, from our Wine and Brew Fest. They’re our two biggest functions we have to make a little bit of money to do the things we do.”
SRI’s major projects include the Biz Pitch competition, New Year’s Eve celebration, and developing the Albright Center for the Performing Arts.
