KULPMONT — The News Item is reporting… In Kulpmont, the Sons of the American Legion, Post 231, need volunteers and support for an upcoming event. They are going to host the Vietnam and 9/11 Memorial walls July 3 to 7.
The display will be at their Veterans Memorial Field. Volunteers are being asked to help with setup, do visitor guidance, help with security, and assist with fundraising at the event.
The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall is a three-fifth scale replica of the Washington, D.C. memorial. Preparations begin weeks in advance, and volunteers can email kulpmontsal231@gmail.com.
Upcoming fundraisers include spaghetti dinners on May 20 and Nov. 4, a four-man scramble on July 19, and a chicken barbecue in September. There is more information on the Facebook page of the Sons of American Legion Post 231 in Kulpmont.
