MONTOURSVILLE – A busy Northumberland County road will be closed until spring. PennDOT announced Thursday that Snydertown Road between Black Mill Road and Route 61 in Upper Augusta Township will be closed until April 1.
A rock slide closed the roadway January 21. Following clean-up of the debris, PennDOT assessed the total extent of the damage to the rock protection fence. Due to the potential for additional material sliding and endangering the traveling public, the road will remain closed until repairs are complete.
The repairs are expected to be complete around April 1, 2016. A detour is in place using Black Mill Road and Route 61.
