SELINSGROVE – A Valley non-profit is hosting a conference on adolescent addiction and solutions in December. The Snyder County Coalition for Kids will sponsor their fifth annual conference on December 15 at Susquehanna University.
Kelly Feiler, community mobilizer for the coalition says they use the Pennsylvania Youth Survey to help determine what issues are most important to Snyder County kids, “Kids in Snyder County have a higher than the state average perception of drugs and alcohol being very easily accessible.”
The conference runs from 9:00 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Degenstein Theater and there is no charge to attend.
Feiler said teachers, service providers, and concerned parents are encouraged to attend, “Come listen to Jennifer Storm, the Pennsylvania state victims’ advocate, coach Kathy Fedorjaka from Next Level Strong, Gary Tennis, Pennsylvania secretary for drug and alcohol programs, and we always love hearing from Cpl. Scott Davis. And then a great panel is going to be moderated by Mark Lawrence in the afternoon.”
