Snyder attempts to get bail modified

snyderSUNBURY — A Sunbury businessman is hoping to get his bail modified.  According to Northumberland County District Attorney Ann Targonski, Robert Snyder was in Northumberland County Court Tuesday morning asking President Judge William Harvey Wiest to modify his $300,000 bail.

Snyder, owner of Pop Snyder’s Lunch and the Squeeze-In, is charged with attempted homicide and other related charges for the February 4 incident where he threatened to shoot and kill wife Kimberly Snyder and then himself.  Snyder again insisted he is not guilty.

In court Tuesday, his wife said she is afraid for her family’s safety, and she also thinks Snyder would run away, if he were let out of prison.  Snyder insists there is no place he would rather be than Sunbury, and he would live in the apartment above the Squeeze-In.

Snyder did not specify a specific bail amount he would like.  He is still awaiting a written decision by Judge Wiest.  Snyder remains at SCI Coal Township.  He is scheduled to appear before Judge Charles Saylor May 8 for a pre-trial conference.  (Codi Jade)
