SUNBURY – Owning a small business is a very risky proposition sometimes. It’s difficult to know when to put money into your business for improvements or growth.
Sunbury Revitalization Inc. (SRI) has developed a new grant award process called the Small Business Assistance Award. Derek Wolfgang, co-chair of SRI’s Business and Economic Development Committee, told WKOK what exactly this award is,” Applicants can apply for two types of assistance. One is for a physical improvement for their business, or a marketing and advertising improvement for their business, and they can be awarded up to $1000 in monetary or in-kind service.”
Wolfgang explains where the funding for this grant comes from, “The funding comes from some projects that we’ve done as a B.E.D. committee, and also through our sponsorships that we’ve had. Traditionally what we’ve gotten from our ‘Biz Pitch’ competition over the years. So we’ll be reaching out to those sponsors.”
The Small Business Assistance Award is available to all existing, start-up and new businesses, and businesses can submit an application up until December 30, 2018.
