SUNBURY – A man is in custody after a report of gunfire in Sunbury Saturday night. Northumberland County Communications dispatched officers to a home at 722 Catawissa Avenue after receiving a report of a man firing a weapon at a woman.
According to the Daily Item, 39-year-old Gerald Angelo of Hummelstown pulled a handgun during an argument with a woman in the home and it went off. Angelo fled the scene with two children in his vehicle, but was taken into custody just after 8 p.m. in the 500 block of Market Street.
Angelo is charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor charges including terroristic threats, endangering the welfare of children, reckless endangerment and simple assault.
He was arraigned before district judge Michael Diehl and sent to Mifflin County prison on $250,000 bail.
