Sunbury, PA – A news conference confirmed that one person was killed in a shooting that occured around noon outside the Northumberland County Courthouse Thursday afternoon.
The shooter, according to police, is not in custody at this time. No additional details are available.
Second Street in Sunbury and the Weis Markets parking lot, according to The Daily Item, are open. That area was taped off while State Police and other police departments investigated.
The incident took place during the lunch break recess of the attempted homicide trial of Anthony Moultrie and Franky Riche, which began today. The trial has been declared a mistrial by Northumberland County President Judge Paige Rosini after the shooting that occurred outside the courthouse. The courthouse was on lockdown Tuesday afternoon and closed the remainder of the day.
