SUNBURY – The teachers union at Shikellamy is holding a rally Thursday night. The Shikellamy Education Association teachers and supporters will be at the Island Park Administration Center at 6pm. They will gather, prior to the school board meeting, in an effort to move the contract negotiations forward.
SEA president Michelle Erdman says the goal is to move in a positive direction, “Our desire is to work together with the administration and the school board to hopefully achieve a mutually beneficial agreement.”
Shikellamy teachers have been working without a contract since last June and have been in talks since January of 2014. The next negotiation session is Monday, March 16. (Jennifer Wakeman)
