SHAMOKIN — A Shamokin man charged with gun theft and simple assault has plead guilty. Northumberland County District Attorney Ann Targonski announced Monday that Brian Shaffer entered a guilty plea shortly before jury selection.
Shaffer entered pleas to Receiving Stolen Property and Simple Assault. Targonski says Shaffer is expected to be sentenced to incarceration in the state correctional institute for a minimum of 40 to 52 months.
Shaffer was charged for reportedly taking a firearm from the victim who lived in Liverpool. He allegedly planned to sell the gun in Shamokin.
