Shamokin Man Convicted of Sexually Assaulting a Woman

MIDDLEBURG – The Daily Item is reporting a Shamokin man was convicted of sexually assaulting a woman but was acquitted of rape and unlawful restraint.  25-year-old Lawrence Thompson Aiken was found guilty of sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault after a jury trial Monday in Snyder County.  The female victim, age 20, testified that she was working at a hotel in Shamokin Dam when she entered Aiken’s room to clean it.  She claims Aiken locked the door and sexually assaulted her in October of 2022.
