SELINSGROVE — The Daily Item is reporting… Water rates in Selinsgrove will increase by 120 percent starting in July. The hike will raise the quarterly minimum fee for 6,000 gallons of water from about $31 to $67.
The newspaper quotes borough officials saying the rate adjustment is necessary to align with surrounding municipalities when they apply for loans and grants. The borough faces approximately $25 million in costs to replace water lines, well pumps, and meters.
