Selinsgrove now designated a River Town

photoSELINSGROVE – About 50 residents came to the Isle of Que boat launch Wednesday evening to celebrate Selinsgrove being designated as a “Susquehanna Greenway River Town”.  The Partnership works with towns such as Selinsgrove to help create river parks, biking trails, water access points and green infrastructure.

Snyder County Commissioner Malcolm Derk says the designation will open up opportunities for Selinsgrove to enhance its connection with the Susquehanna River, “What’s nice about this is it really highlights the importance of gateways to get people exposed to the natural beauty of the Susquehanna.”

All three Snyder County Commissioners were on hand for the designation along with Selinsgrove Borough Manager Paul Williams, who discussed an upcoming project, “The people of Selinsgrove are about to commence a feasibility study. And through public involvement and participation, it can result in a conceptual plan for enhancements that can link the river, the town and the people of Selinsgrove.”
