HUMMELS WHARF – Selinsgrove Imaging Center and SUN Orthopaedics of Evangelical is ready to welcome patients next week in a more accessible way. The new location at the Susquehanna Valley Mall at 191 Roosevelt Avenue opens next Monday, just about a year since construction began.
Evangelical President and CEO Kendra Aucker, “It sets up a great flow if you’re an orthopedic patient you can quickly flow into imaging and back again. There are expanded hours, particularly on the imaging side, also weekend hours. It ties closely to the Family Practice Center, as well as the Urgent Care down here.”
The new facility moved across the street from its former building along Susquehanna Valley Mall Drive into a modernized, 8,500-square foot facility.
Evangelical Director of Imaging Services Michele Muscara says the new facility is available to all patients of different needs, “We’ll have everything from orthopedics to general practice, pediatrics, availability.”
In addition, every part of the new facility is handicapped and persons-of-size accessible. There are eight exam rooms on the SUN Orthopaedics side. The imaging side includes MRI, CT, ultra sound, x-ray, and vascular services, where walk-in appointments and same-day imaging are available.
Aucker says it remains important for Evangelical to continue offering the best care for those in the Selinsgrove and Sunbury areas, “Your main location is in one place and in our case it’s Lewisburg but we serve such a broad geographic region, and I think that’s what healthcare is about, meeting people where they are. We’ve had imaging here as well as orthopedics, but this is the start of us having better orthopedic and imaging facilities.”
Evangelical still owns the Susquehanna Valley Mall Drive location, where Physical Therapy of Evangelical still exists, and is developing future plans to modernize that facility.
