SUNBURY—Shikellamy School Board Vice President Dr. James Hartman retired after Thursday’s meeting. In his seventeen years with the district, Dr. Hartman spent most of that time as the district’s superintendent.

The now former vice president spoke fondly of his time at Shikellamy, “It’s been a good experience. The school district’s just a part of my life. I’m glad to see that it appears we’re still moving in a good direction; and I’m confident in the future as Mr. Misavage comes on board.”

As for his plans for the future, Dr. Hartman plans to spend time with family, among other things yet unknown. “Our one and only grandson resides in a warmer part of the United States so we’ll be spending some time there. I hope to find something to do to be productive in life and we’ll see what it is.”  (Kory Kramer)
