DANVILLE – A farming accident has turned tragic…a boy from the Dalmatia area hurt in a farming accident last weekend has died. A nursing supervisor tells us 7-year-old Wellington Shaffer succumbed to injuries sometime since last evening.
The boy was in critical condition after a farming accident Saturday after he fell into a corn trailer and was covered with the material. He was flown to Geisinger.
He was a student at Northumberland Christian School where students and others were praying for his recovery. A prayer vigil was held earlier this week at Martz’ Game Farm and a ‘gofundme’ site has been set up to help the family.
Proceeds from Saturday’s Fall Fudge Run in Northumberland will now go to the Shaffer family.
