Update: 3:30 p.m: The roadway is now open.
CENTRALIA – Route 61/Byrnsville Road is closed today between Ashland and Centralia after a hole opened up in the road. PennDOT is assessing the situation, but in the meantime, a detour is in place.
The detour sends motorists on Route 54 west to Route 61 in Mount Carmel and Route 61 to Centralia. Delays are possible. (Ali Stevens)
