UPDATE: One person died and several were injured in a three vehicle wreck on Rt. 11 in Montour County. Mahoning Township police are investigating and aren’t releasing many details about the collision. The road was closed for several hours. More details should be out Saturday.
DANVILLE — Route 11 in Montour County is closed following a multi-vehicle accident. Montour County emergency services tell us Route 11 is closed in both directions between the Montour/Northumberland County line south of Danville and Ridge Road in Point Township.
The roadway will likely be closed for the next several hours as cleanup efforts are underway. A detour is in place using Route 11/54 in Danville to Route 54 to Route 642 to Route 147 south to Route 11.
A three car head-on collision happened just before 3 p.m. near Bald Top Road. Emergency crews are on the scene. We’ll bring you more updates as they become available.
