Robbery at Turkey Hill in Sunbury
SUNBURY — Sunbury police say the Turkey Hill store on North Fourth Street was robbed Thursday night. A man wearing a black ski mask entered the store and told the clerk to open the drawer of the cash register. Police say he may have had a knife and got away with a small amount of cash. The suspect ran from the store on foot.
The man is described as a white male, six feet tall, wearing blue jeans, a long sleeve white shirt with a black hooded sweatshirt underneath and black boots. The robbery took place at 10:42pm. Pictures of the suspect are posted on our website at WKOK.com.
After the hold-up, Sunbury police corporal Brad Hare said they quickly coordinated a regional police saturation patrol. Police asked for and received help from officers from Northumberland, Point Township, state police, Shamokin Dam, Selinsgrove and Buffalo Valley Regional Police.
He said they searched the city systemically trying to find the robber. They did encounter several people during these patrols and did take a woman into custody wanted on an arrest warrant. Anyone with information is asked to call Sunbury police. 570-988-4539
