SHAMOKIN — A road project scheduled for today has been postponed. In Shamokin Township, Northumberland County, the railroad crossing work on Shamrock Road was set for today, Friday, but it will take place Monday. PennDOT says they’re holding off because of the rains.
They say Shamrock Road, near Mulberry Road, should be reopen by next Tuesday. A detour using Snydertown Road and Bottle Road will be posted. PennDOT and the Shamokin Valley Railroad is repairing the crossing and making some long term improvements at that crossing.
