ELYSBURG — A major wrinkle in the Bloomburg Fair traffic coming from Northumberland County is expected this week.
If you travel through the Elysburg area on Routes 54 and 487 to get to Bloomsburg then you may want to find an alternate route, especially if you’re trying to get to the fair this week. Heavy congestion and delays due to a road construction project is set to begin Tuesday on an over 1 mile stretch of Route 54 from just south of Southview Drive through the intersection with Sheetz.
On Route 487 construction will effect a 2.65 mile stretch from the intersection with Route 61 to Shamokin Creek and Route 61 at the insection of Route 487.
Traffic will be effected during the daylight hours, and motorists are asked to plan extra time or seek alternate routes. For more information, go to 511PA.com. (Christopher Elio)
