LEWISBURG – What would life be like if you had made different choices in high school? That’s the question at the heart of a play being presented by RiverStage Community Theatre this weekend. ‘The Pavilion,’ by Craig Wright takes place at a 20th high school reunion.
Jove Graham, communications director for RiverStage, says former sweethearts meeting again at their reunion is the perfect backdrop to explore the ‘what-ifs’ in life, “We just love this play because it is that tension between wanting to go back again and not wanting to go back again. It gets sort of metaphysical about ‘if we could just time travel everything would be wonderful,’ but that’s not how the world works. It’s just a beautifully written little piece.”
The entire production will have the feel of a high school reunion with nametags for audience members and a cash bar during intermission. ‘The Pavilion’ will be performed at the Lewisburg Hotel Friday, February 19 and Saturday February 20 at 7:30p.m and at 2:30p.m on Sunday, February 21. Tickets are available online at www.riverstagetheatre.org. (Jennifer Wakeman)
