UPDATE: Ridge Road is now open, the road is clear.
All clear on Ridge Road in Point Township
NORTHUMBERLAND – Ridge Road in Point Township, Northumberland County is open now, it was closed for a time overnight when a tractor-trailer truck hauling tomatoes overturned.
Point Township police tell us, around 3am, the trucker was on Ridge Road, near Spruce Hollow Road, when he swerved to miss a deer.
The truck hit the low shoulder and that contributed to the rollover accident. No injuries were reported and a full load of tomatoes had to be cleaned up. The road was closed for several hours.
POINT TOWNSHIP – You’ll want to allow yourself extra time if traveling through Point Township this morning. Northumberland County Communications tells WKOK Ridge Road is closed and will be closed for several hours.
Crews are lifting a tractor-trailer carrying tomatoes that crashed just before 3 a.m. No other details at this time. Point Township Police is at the scene investigating. (Matt Catrillo)
