DANVILLE – A popular restaurant heavily damaged by fire in Danville will be reopening again at the same location. Owner of BJ’s Steak and Ribs Robert Kirkpatrick is excited they will be able to rebuild.
Kirkpatrick said, “The only thing that is going to be left of the existing structure is the façade and some of the brick interior walls and some of the block walls in the back. Other than that, it will be a shell that will be demolished completely and it’s partially demolished now inside.”
The building was gutted by fire in April of 2014 and Kirkpatrick says they should be open by the fall in October or November, “We are applying for the permits right now and we hope that by the end of February, we can start in earnest with construction.”
Kirkpatrick says the restaurant will be about the same size and will feature two floors of dining. Kirkpatrick has owned the Danville restaurant since 1987 and also owns the Selinsgrove location. (Ali Stevens)
