Third Person Admits to Participate in Watsontown Beating Death

SUNBURY – PennLive is reporting…A third person has admitted to participating in the 2020 beating death and burial of a man in Northumberland County. 46-year-old Dorothy Huffman pleaded guilty Wednesday in county court to a charge of voluntary manslaughter.

According to PennLive, Judge Paige Rosini accepted the plea, but wanted to know why Huffman and her husband, 44-year-old Thomas Huffman were permitted to plead guilty to different charges. He pleaded in March to a charge of third-degree murder and abuse of corpse. The two are jailed without bail with sentencing scheduled in June.

Rosini said if she was not satisfied with the answer to her question about the charges, she could reject the plea agreement that recommends a 7-year minimum sentence for Dorothy Huffman. Should that occur, she could withdraw her plea and go to trial.

The Huffmans and their nephew, 18-year-old Kaden Koser are charged in the death of 55-year-old Richard LeRoy Jameson II.

Koser, who cooperated with authorities, pleaded guilty in March to reduced charges of tampering with evidence and abuse of corpse. He is also awaiting sentencing.

All three had been charged with homicide in the death of Jameson whose remains were found last July in a wooded area behind their trailer outside Watsontown.

Dorothy Huffman, who appeared by video, admitted playing a role in Jameson’s death but did not go into detail.
