Rate Increases Coming for UGI Customers

HARRISBURG – WBRE is reporting… UGI Utilities announced upcoming increases in rates for consumers.  UGI will increase rates by 4.5% for residential customers, 6% for commercial customers, and 6.5% for industrial retail customers starting June 1.

According to UGI, on June 1 consumers will see an increase in rates followed by an additional increase projected by 7.3% for residential customers, 9.6% for commercial customers, and 10.6% for industrial retail customers on December 1.

Officials say, in June consumers who are heating a residential area bills will increase from $90.94 to $95.04, and if the proposed increase is approved in December prices will go from $95.04 to $101.99.

Those who are heating commercial areas will see an increase in their bill from $262.30 to $278.05 in June then bills in December will increase to $304.68, officials note.  Additionally, for customers heating industrial retail area bills will increase from $778.91 to $829.49 in June and in December bills will increase to $915.03, UGI continued.

UGI states although some customers may have trouble paying their bills they do offer budget billing as well as other payment options that can be found online.
