SUNBURY – Nearly 300 area non-profits will participate in a 30-hour fundraising event. Raise The Region, hosted by the First Community Foundation Partnership, kicks off Wednesday night at 6p.m.
Jason McCahan, director of strategic philanthropy, says the online event is an easy way for people to make donations, “You can go in, enter your contact information, and select one non-profit or as many non-profits as you’d like to support. All transactions are done by credit card and then once you make your gift, the leader boards will update and that non-profit’s total dollar amount will change.”
Alexander Family Dealerships have added $150,000 to stretch the donations even further. Aubrey Alexander says Raise The Region benefits non-profits of all sizes, “Some of the smaller non-profits, this is a great platform for them to get recognized and to get some money donated to them. We always like supporting the smaller non-profits as well as the larger ones. That’s why it’s important to us.”
Donations can be made from 6p.m Wednesday through midnight Thursday at www.raisetheregion.org.
