SUNBURY—Legalizing pot will be part of the discussion this weekend at a local ACLU dinner. The ACLU Central Susquehanna Chapter invites the public to attend their annual awards dinner.
According to David Young of the ACLU, Howard Wooldridge will be the keynote speaker, “He’s going to talk about why we need to end the failed war on drugs. How we can save billions in tax dollars, lives and reduce crime.”
The event begins at 5pm at Front Street Station in Northumberland. Several awards will be given during the evening, “We give the Mark McCullough Religious Leadership award to a member of the clergy. We give the Clyde Peeling Critical Thinker award to a member of our community who is a humanist, agnostic, atheist and we also give several Thomas Paine awards for noteworthy Letter to the Editor writers.”
