SUNBURY – PPL says it is sending crews to assist with hurricane relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Helene. 60-line workers and 80 contractors from PPL are heading to Georgia to help restore power after the storm passes. Crews from PPL’s Sunbury service center are part of this effort.
Tom Bender of PPL emphasized the importance of mutual aid between utility companies: “The storms hit where they are going to hit… it’s important for us to help because one hand washes the other.” Additionally, PPL is sending 50 more-line workers to Kentucky to assist LG&E and KU with recovery efforts.
