BERWICK – The Unit 1 reactor at the Susquehanna nuclear power plant was manually shut down June 6th to address a water leak inside the unit, but has now been reconnected. After inspection, staff identified and reported a second minor leak from a pipe beneath the reactor vessel on June 8th.
The unit was up and running normally again Monday, when it was reconnected to the power grid. Unit 2 at the plant remained fully operational and safely generated electricity at full power during that maintenance. (Sara Lauver)
