SHAMOKIN DAM – A Shamokin Dam police officer was injured in a vehicle accident Tuesday. The unidentified officer was taken to a hospital after the crash on Route 11/15 in Hummels Wharf.
Shamokin Dam police Chief Tim Bremigen says the officer was in a marked police cruiser, conducting routine duties outside the borough. At 9:30 a.m. the officer was involved in a crash while approaching Marketplace Boulevard.
The driver of the other vehicle is from Leola, Pennsylvania and was not injured. State police are investigating the crash. Bremigen says the officers’ name is being withheld at this time for safety reasons.
