SUNBURY — A man led police on a vehicle pursuit through Sunbury, topping more than 100 mph, according to police. NorthcentralPA.com is reporting that Sunbury police say they spotted a vehicle driven by Jack Boyle of Sunbury, the vehicle had an expired registration on August 22.
They say Boyle fled at a high rate of speed through Reagan Street, Eleventh Street, and Snydertown Road, according to the affidavit. Police say speeds were in excess of 108 mph. Boyle stopped when he turned onto Black Mill Road.
In the vehicle were a glass smoking pipe with burnt residue, two baggies of methamphetamine, and they say Boyle admitted to smoking meth around three hours prior.
Boyle was charged with a felony count of fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, misdemeanor DUI, use/possession of drug paraphernalia, and various traffic summaries. He was arraigned by District Judge Rachel Wiest-Benner who set bail at $10,000.
