LEWISBURG – The Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency has approved a loan and tax credit for an affordable multifamily housing development in Union County.  Senator Gene Yaw (R-23, Williamsport) says Penn Commons of Lewisburg has been approved for a $968,742 loan and $878,726 in tax credits.

The money will be used to construct seven new buildings.  They will hold 5 one-bedroom units, 12 two-bedroom units and 8 three-bedroom units for general occupancy.  The project is expected to be a total of 43,868 square feet.

Yaw applauds the approval of these requests.  He says, “The funding pays a critical part in the state’s effort to improve our economy and provide affordable housing to state residents…”  (Codi Jade)
