SUNBURY – The road blocks will soon be coming down on Chestnut Street. The Sunbury City Council says Front Street to Third Street should be reopening by this weekend.
Mayor David Persing says they will be holding off on the second phase, “We’re happy the Chestnut Street project has come along. The second part of course will be in the future because we don’t have enough money to finish the whole thing but the main part that we started should be done by this weekend so that’s good.”
When enough funds are in place, phase two will work its way from 3rd to 10th and will include sewer and water improvements. The entire project has a price tag of $1.2 million. (Lauren Koch)
