NORTHUMBERLAND – Many people are expected at a PennDOT Duke Street reconstruction meeting tonight in Northumberland. The department says 7pm meeting at the Front Street Station will give residents, business owners and others a chance to find out about the three year project that has already begun.
PennDOT says they’ll be explaining how the improvements to Duke Street, which is Route 147, and Front and Water Streets, which carry Route 11, will take place this summer and next year.
A PennDOT spokesman says the meeting will include a presentation at 7pm followed by an open house. There will be several phases of the detours and night work in Northumberland. The detours include traffic being transferred to local streets, off the main highways.
