PennDOT adopting new monitoring system

pennDOT logoHARRISBURG – PennDOT Driver’s License Center should have shorter wait times, thanks to some new technology. As part of Governor Wolf’s GO-TIME initiative, PennDOT is now relying on a new monitoring system to check – and shorten wait times at the centers.

PennDOT secretary Leslie Richards, “We’re very excited to be able to use modern technology to make us more efficient and be able to deliver a better valued product and better valued services to everybody in Pennsylvania.”

Through the deployment of a software upgrade call ‘Orchestra,’ Driver and Vehicle Service managers can monitor wait times at 27 Driver License Centers around the state in real time and deploy additional resources in response.

Richards says the project goal is to give excellence to the community, “PennDOT is committed to making sure that we give top notch and high quality value to all Pennsylvanians. It’s something that Governor Wolf demands of us and something that we promise to deliver. It’s definitely an example of a government that works.”

PennDOT plans to add the system to another 23 Driver License Centers with the highest customer volumes. (Matt Catrillo)
