DANVILLE – Farm bureaus from around the region brought donations to Danville Tuesday. The annual event at the Ronald McDonald House in Danville brings awareness to the importance of farming and its contributions to non-profits.
Kevin Lanciotti is board president at the Ronald McDonald House at Geisinger Medical Center, “The generosity in the goods and the food that are donated helps us feed and take care of families in their time of need.”
Bradford/Sullivan County Farm Bureau has been donating to the House since the relationship began eighteen years ago. Kathy Yoachim, coordinator for Bradford County, says their donation focused on the House’s specific needs.
“This is the first year I’ve seen that [the House] put out a desperate need for things, and that was a big motivator for us. It just seemed to put more of an emphasis on ‘hey these guys need this,’ let’s get the stuff that they really need.”
This year’s donation of money and household products amounted to $19,688, and the farm bureaus have given nearly $300,000 to date. (Kory Kramer)
