Open House at Penn Valley Airport: Aviation Inspiration

SELINSGROVE — The Penn Valley Airport near Selinsgrove will host its fourth annual open house this Saturday from 9am to 4pm, offering a full day of aviation-related fun and education. Dr. Russell Stankiewicz  says the airport is a vital community asset and invites the public to come out and explore.  He said, “We will bring all of the planes out of the hangars so people can see what we do.  It’s just going to be a good opportunity for people to come and enjoy themselves.  We have great food trucks coming.”

Sponsored by the Penn Valley Pilots Organization, the event will include airplane and helicopter rides, aircraft displays, food trucks, and entertainment. Organizers say the day is designed to inspire a love for aviation, especially among young people.

Numerous aircraft will be on display including one of the latest US Army helicopters. One of the goals is to inspire people to think of aviation and consider enjoying or learning more about flying. Other highlights include a variety of emergency and airport vehicles on display.
