UNDATED—Volunteer fire and rescue crews from around the Valley were busy this afternoon battling a fire in Montour County and two accidents in Union County.
Just after 2 pm, fire departments from Montour, Northumberland and Union Counties responded to a two alarm fire on Ottawa Road in Limestone Township, Montour County. Montour County Communications would not release any information on the fire. Union County Fire Wire has information, that it was a vacant home and the fire is suspected to have started in the back of the structure.
Meantime, volunteers from Union County responded to an accident at the intersection of Route 15 and Route 44 in Allenwood around 2:15 pm. Union County Communications says it was a two vehicle accident and one person was taken to the hospital.
More Union County crews were then dispatched to an accident on Route 15 near Allenwood just after 2:30pm . 9-1-1 dispatchers tell us this was also a two vehicle accident with one patient being taken to the hospital. The southbound lane of Route 15 was shut down just north of Allenwood as that accident was cleared from the roadway.
