UPDATE: Lewisburg doc dies while driving on Bucknell campus

THE LATEST: Buffalo Valley Regional Police say the victim of today’s crash on the campus of Bucknell was Dr. Harold Harrison of Dogwood Lane, Lewisburg. They say he was at the Route 15 Moore Avenue traffic signal, accelerated through a red light, went off the road and hit a tree. Emergency responders pronounced Dr. Harrison dead at the scene. LEWISBURG – One person is dead and a one-vehicle crash occurred on Bucknell University’s campus  Wednesday morning. Union County Communications tells WKOK the crash occurred just before 7:30 a.m. along Moore Avenue at the intersection of  Dent Drive.

 

In an email sent to the Bucknell University community Wednesday morning, officials say an individual driving through campus suffered a medical emergency, resulting in the crash. The email says the driver was found dead at the scene. It also says preliminary information indicates the individual is not a member of the university community.

 

Moore Avenue is now open after being closed earlier for an investigation. You can see the full email from Bucknell at WKOK.com.

 

Dear Faculty and Staff,

 

We’re writing because, this morning, it appears an individual driving through campus suffered a medical emergency which resulted in a crash at the intersection of Dent Drive and Moore Avenue. The driver was found deceased at the scene. Preliminary information indicates the individual is not a member of the Bucknell community. Please be aware that emergency responders, including the Union County coroner, may be on campus throughout the morning.
