NORTHUMBERLAND – PennDOT’s $13 million Northumberland Duke Street project continues this weekend. Despite cool temperatures, crews say they’ll be busy and some paving is scheduled. Thursday’s snow storm idled the project for about 36-hours according to PennDOT.
The department says Saturday—near Duke and Front Streets, paving of side streets is scheduled and there will be work on Duke Street. Front Street will be closed at that intersection for several more days. Paving work will continue through the weekend and into mid-week next week.
PennDOT says the railroad underpass work will resume next week and contractors expect to finish there in May, they say they’ll work through the winter. That project leads to the Route 11 north detour which sends heavy traffic volumes to Front Street in Sunbury.
Work on Front Street will continue next week.
