NORTHUMBERLAND – The Northumberland railroad underpass project will continue through the winter, but the project could be completely done earlier than originally scheduled. PennDOT officials provided that update during Friday’s Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce Transportation Committee meeting.
They say the contractor is trying to speed up the project by working through the winter, and PennDOT officials say the entire project is now expected to be completed by next May.
There will be a slight change coming…Under the underpass, crews are on the north side of the site, and they’ll switch sides to the south side of the road. The Route 11 north detour will continue until the project is finished next May.
