Northumberland County DA Won’t Be on May Ballot

SUNBURY – Northumberland County District Attorney Tony Matulewicz will not be on the May primary ballot after not handing his petitions in on time.

Northumberland County Chief Registrar Lindsay Phillips said Tuesday it was determined after a review with the Department of State the filing deadline was 5 p.m. for state offices and the county deadline was 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. Therefore, Phillips says the petitions will not be accepted.

Phillips said the petitions were first accepted as a courtesy, but had been pending a review with the Department of State.

Sunbury attorney Mike O’Donnell will now be the only person on the May primary ballot for District Attorney, running on the Republican ticket.

WKOK has reached out to Matulewicz for comment.
