SUNBURY — A Northumberland County Commissioner has switched her party affiliation. Kymberley Best was a Democrat and won the nomination in 2015. She decided to switch to independent on Thursday.
Best stated on social media that she switched because she felt it was the right choice and the right time for her. She said she does not plan to run for re-election in two years and has been thinking about switching parties for a long time. Because of the switch, Best is unable to vote in the May primary election. (Ali Stevens)
