NorCo 911 Coordinator Resigns, Replacement Sought

SUNBURY – Northumberland County 911 Coordinator Russ Fellman has resigned. County Commissioner Joe Klebon, who oversees the 911 center, said Wednesday Fellman submitted his resignation November 30. The county is now advertising for a full-time replacement.

Fellman’s resignation comes following various incidents, including the Northumberland County Fire Chiefs Association recently calling for his resignation, citing some dispatching errors. Klebon says Fellman didn’t give a reason for the resignation and says Fellman was not asked to resign. Klebon said he does believe Fellman ‘felt it was time to step down with some of the issues going on.’

Klebon says County Emergency Management Coordinator Steve Jeffery is overseeing the 911 center for now.  Klebon says the county is also seeking a 911 quality assurance-training officer, 911 telecommunicator and a 911 training officer.
